Looking back towards the harbour you get a view of where you started from, with Watermouth Castle on the hill behind you. The cream teas looked pretty good too(maybe next time!).īehind the cafe is a footpath that take you out onto Sexton's Burrows, a beautiful outcrop that takes you along the harbours edge, and out onto the peninsula with beautiful views across the surrounding coastline, and towards the Hangman hills that look over Exmoor and Combe Martin. We sat on the beach and enjoyed our refreshments. This is a natural secluded harbour, halfway between the seaside fishing town of Ilfracombe, and the village of Combe Martin to the north.īefore we set off on a little stroll we had a coffee and a delicious slice of Coffee and Walnut cake from the Storm in a Teacup cafe, a cafe that was shaped out of a boat on the harbours edge. Waterside Diner - A hidden gem with a lovely view that we discovered whilst walking along the Tarka trail to Barnstaple.Here's some pictures from a lovely part of the North Devon coastline, fresh from my visit last week. Squiers - Superb fish and chip restaurant in Braunton, a favourite of Damien Hirst and John Major. SQ - Traditional sumptuous restaurant in Braunton with a superb bar. Spice Lounge - At the bottom of our road, Indian takeaway and restaurant named as one of Britains best by the top 100 curry restaurants guide. Because you can never have enough Pizza in my opinion Slice of Devon - Take away pizza from the Quay. Siam Bistro - Our closest and best Thai Restaurant in Braunton 15 mins by car. Settantanove - Marvellous fresh pizzas and mediterranean food made by our good friend Omar. Relish Brasserie Ilfracombe - Fantastic Fish, Pizzas and Burgers. Noel Corston - Fine dining in Woolacombe (book ahead). New Coast Kitchen - At the heart of New Coast Kitchen is their passion for great flavours and the highest quality ingredients. Lyn Bay Fish and chips - Amazing fish and chips every time from these guys, they even deliver! Just the job for a fabulous special occasion at surprisingly reasonable prices. Kentisbury Grange - The Coach house by local culinary legend and TV regular Michael Caines. I lfracombe Tandoori - Very local Bangladeshi/Indian. Giovanni & Lucas - Large family run Italian restaurant near the seafront. The Antidote - Fantastic wine bar with superb food right here in town! winners of a Michelin bib gourmandīlue Groove - Great Bistro menu situated in the surf town of Croyde.Ĭhocolate Emporium - Our very own bespoke chocolate shop.Įmperors Court - Our favourite quality Chinese restaurant on the high street.
